Hop notes
Slips from the 701 after the tick dried
These are not star ratings. They are what people said when they saw the walk number next to the hop they thought was “fine.”
“July bake at the muni. My 7 sat in May and walked fourteen feet in heat. They split hop and walk. Loft down a degree. Collar is still there.”
“Prairie wind after the land was stretching the hybrid. Same hop, longer crawl. Face a hair flatter. I stopped blaming my hands for a gust.”
“April ice crust. Every wedge skipped. Tess showed the hop was alive and the walk was the victim. We did not buy more bounce as a first move.”
“I wanted a descent printout. Ingrid refused and counted feet. Annoying, then useful. The 9-iron was hopping twice. I had been calling it spin.”
“Driver walk on wheat-stubble lies south of town. The hop was fine. The walk was greedy. We recut a quarter inch and the crawl died.”
“Gift walk from my sister. I thought it was a gimmick. The painted ticks ended the argument I have every July with my uncle.”
